For the duration of the Secret Regatta exhibition, 6 - 20 June, we would love for you to help us to flood social media with memories, stories, images and videos to describe our lives on the waters on Secret Coast. From sailing, to kayaking, open water swimming, to life on our ferries, fishing boats and lifeboats, we’d love to hear from you! To do this, simply tag your posts on social media with #secretregatta, and remember to tag @tighnabruaichgallery, @argyllsecretcoast, @WCWscotland and @wildaboutargyll

You can look forward to hearing stories from locals, learn some of the history of the Fife yachts, see beautiful imagery of life on the waves, and have the opportunity to explore some incredible new pieces by prominent artists and local schoolchildren, hosted by Tighnabruaich Gallery.
Create your own #Secret Regatta Artwork!
I broke the Secret Regatta school project down into a number of challenges. Some challenges were designed to act as ice breakers and a means of encouraging the participants to loosen up, explore mark making, encourage close looking and break away from any notion that they couldn't draw or were not artistic. The other challenges, interspersed within the rest, were to enable those taking part to really experience, and participate in, the process of artistic process. By this I mean research their subject, develop ideas, experiment and select and hone the final idea before producing a final work. I also included an introduction to what an artist must consider when producing a piece to exhibit within a gallery and for potential buyers. I have made this series of 4 challenge videos to enable you to take part in the same experienced.
